The Hokkaidō League is the college football league of the northern japanese island of Hokkaidō. The champion of the Hokkaidō League plays in the Pine Bowl against the champion of the Tōhoku League for the North Japan championship.
For the 2020 season the Hokkaidō League changed the format due to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to reduce the number of games. The Division 1 is split into two Blocks (A and B). Each team is supposed to play three regular season games. The winners of the two blocks will play for the championship.
